To be eligible to set Alberta Powerlifting Union provincial records a lifter must:
- be a resident of Alberta
- hold a current APU/CANPL membership
To claim an APU Provincial record, you must:
- Submit the form below within 7 days after the contest, or the last day of a multi-day event
- Have performed the lift at any APU/CANPL Sanctioned events, or IPF International Events
Athlete Responsibility – It is the athlete’s responsibility to notify the APU Records Chairman of the record by using the form below. Records will only be updated if they are submitted as per the requirements above.

CANPL National Record Information
If a Provincial Record is also a National Record, then the athlete must follow the Canada Powerlifting (CANPL) record policy. Under CANPL rules, all lifters who break a National Record in a contest that allows such records to be broken such as, Provincial Championships, Regional Championships, National Championships, and International caliber contests must apply for the record online. National Records must be applied for within 7 days of the end of the qualifying event using the link below.
If you do not see your record updated within 2 weeks, contact the CANPL Records Chair for further information or clarification.
